Reality hits shores

In this life, is everything certain?
The recent Tsunami disaster has shook the world undeniably. I have always thought that an earthquake will cause disaster where humans die being swallowed up by earth or buildings structure fall on them. I never thought that an earthquake in the middle of the ocean will cause waves with 20 metres high hitting shores and killing miles and miles of human race!

While seeing reports in the television, I just thought to myself.. These survivors have lost everything they worked for in the past.. their family, house, jobs, belongings… All of these things gone in mere minutes. So, what else is left?

In Banda Acheh, the only structure remaining strong is the mosque. The other buildings surrounding it are totally wiped out. All our lives, we have always asked God for a sign... Here’s a sign right smack on our faces and it’s up to us to acknowledge it, or ignore it. It’s about time I choose to acknowledge it. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/050104/photos_wl_pc_afp/050104180930_guqfvbzx_photo1

God can strip away all material things we have in a split second. No warning, no sign. Just a blink of an eye. In the Tsunami instance, it’s an experience for thousands and thousands of them. In the holy Quran, there are statements where a whole race could be wiped out due to unfaithfulness or misconducts. I have always questioned.. ‘How can a natural disaster wipe the whole colony? It’s unimaginable.’ Well.. I guess I won’t question that anymore.

According to a recent study, the world’s structure is changing. Heck! Even Pulau Andaman’s coordinate in Indonesia might change. It’s a scary thought of more disasters that may come based on the same study. I have always lived my life with the assurance that there’s always tomorrow. Now I just realized otherwise. The world is no longer a safe place to live.

Referring to my own question above, I guess what’s left is a person’s faith.

Starters

I have always been inspired of a certain character in a famous TV show which writes about life based on real life experience. Although she writes more about a certain sizzling topic, her columns always brings sparks of ideas to me on my view of life as well.

This is not a diary, nor is it a journal of my life.. It is more of the way I see life in a perspective. Since this is my first attempt on writing a blog, pardon my lack of journalism skills (since I don’t have any) and grammar mistakes. However, comments are welcomed.
